Formerly a steel mill, The Crucible Building serves as an excellent example of the adaptive reuse projects Pittsburgh has seen in recent years. Franjo Construction converted the 100,000 SF building into a class A office for Uber Advanced Technology Group (ATG) which has since been acquired by another of Franjo’s clients: Aurora innovation.
Designed by NEXT Architecture, the project won two AIA awards:
- AIA Pittsburgh, Certificate of Merit Winner, 2019
- AIA Pennsylvania, Merit Award Winner, 2020
