NAIOP Pittsburgh’s Best Multifamily of the Year 2023
Franjo Construction completed phase 1 in 2019 and was selected again for phase 2, which wrapped up in 2022. The community now comprises 586 units, 19,000 SF of retail space, 475 spaces in 2 garages with additional surface parking, 2 swimming pools, several indoor and outdoor lounge areas, a makers space, fitness centers, and more.
Both phases were ground-up construction on a challenging site. It is appropriately named Arsenal, a nod to the history of the site. During the groundwork of both phases, civil war era explosives were found buried throughout the site. Despite this and other challenges in a post-covid world, a large portion of phase 2 was delivered in just 18 months.
The site also includes a walkway for pedestrians that runs directly through the building complex and into a one-acre public park.
