TRYP Pittsburgh/Lawrenceville Hotel wins “Certificate of Merit”

Each year, AIA Pittsburgh hosts “Design Pittsburgh,” a celebration of architecture and design. It honors the teams who construct beautiful, iconic buildings in the Pittsburgh area. This event is held each October, and features an architectural design exhibition, a juried Design

Awards competition, a public voting opportunity for the “People’s Choice Award,” a reception for over 400 members, affiliates, design enthusiasts and guests, a VIP reception honoring the Gold Medal recipient and a ceremony recognizing winners of the AIA Pittsburgh’s Design Awards. Franjo was recently nominated among some of the best architects and builders in the Pittsburgh area, and was part of a team that won an award for 2019!

Franjo Construction was the lead contractor in the team that built the TRYP Pittsburgh/Lawrenceville Hotel. Desmone Architects was the architectural firm that worked with Franjo to build this hotel.

TRYP Pittsburgh/Lawrenceville Hotel

The TRYP Pittsburgh/Lawrenceville Hotel is set in the historic Washington Education Center Building at the base of the 40th Street Bridge. Saturated in neighborhood history and embellished with local art, the 108-room hotel is home to two restaurant concepts, a coffee bar and a wine shop, spectacular rooftop city and neighborhood views and two distinct event spaces for celebrations and events. TRYP Pittsburgh/Lawrenceville, a Windham property, is a local gathering space, just 3 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, 30 minutes from Pittsburgh International Airport, in the heart of one of the city’s most celebrated art, dining and shopping districts.
