A groundbreaking ceremony was held on Monday, October 5, 2020 at the site where Forte will be built. Forte is a 50-unit luxury condominium building developed by Jack Benoff of Solara Ventures, who has worked with Franjo Construction multiple times. It is located between 26th and 27th streets along Penn Avenue in the Strip District. Half of the luxury condos have already sold, and move-in is scheduled for fall 2021.
Attending the ceremony was Jack Benoff, Pittsburgh City Mayor Bill Peduto, and Franjo Construction’s CEO, Frank Leonello. The weather turned out perfectly for the ceremony. Mayor Peduto celebrated the groundbreaking, stating that Pittsburgh needs even more housing to be constructed. Just three blocks away, Franjo is building another housing development: Penn23.
